Tarawa is the location of one of the most iconic Battles of the Pacific War. The Battle of Tarawa was part of the Gilbert Island Campaign (US code-named Operation Galvanic), fought from November 20 – 23, 1943.

In 2015, Tarawa was the first book for historical tabletop games in the Pacific during WWII. With Tokyo Express and Beach Red 2 books about Guadalcanal followed, later Great Asia War. As well you can get the basic rules for the War in the Pacific and Southeast Asia 1941 – 1945 in the Frontline Core Rulebook. Now, with Tarawa Version 2.0. we relaunched in 2025 this first book of the series. The book was revised, new rules were added.
